Hear from established animation professionals on how to make your mark in the business - whether it be working independently, in a studio, or mixing both worlds - and how to stay true to your vision at the same time. The panel will feature animators Kris Hofmann, Laura Hulme and Kim Noce, who will present their personal and commercial work, and will be chaired by producer Abigail Addison from Animate Projects.
Speakers:
Kris Hofmann
Kris is an animation director and designer. Mostly working with stop-frame animation, she collects and crafts beautiful objects and allows them to tell their own stories.
Originally from Austria she came to London in 2004 to study Graphic Design at Camberwell College. She made the move to animation during her MA at the Royal College of Art. Her first year project ‘Ice’ won the 2009 V&A illustration award.
Kris’s 2010 graduation film ‘Breakfast’ screened at numerous international film festivals and was included in the British Council’s Film catalogue. Since then she has been developing a number of personal projects and continues to work on commissions for clients such as the New York Times, the V&A, Granta Magazine, Madrid Fashion Week and the Austrian Cultural Forum.

Laura Hulme
Laura Hulme is a video designer working across music, television, theatre and film. Working primarily with large format screens and projection surfaces; Laura has designed moving image content for many high profile artists and shows. These include The Rolling Stones, Robbie Williams, Black Sabbath, U2, One Direction and Monty Python. Her most recent work is as the screen designer for Channel 4’s ‘Stand Up To Cancer’.

Kim Noce
Kim Noce is an artist & filmmaker with a BA/MA in Fine Art and an MA in Animation Direction from the National Film and Television School. Alongside her personal films she works as a freelance animator for the commercial industry. Her films and animations have been shown in festivals and galleries and have won many awards around the globe. Kim is part of www.MewLab.com and is represented by www.FilmClubProductions.com.
