Festival Events

Underwire opened on 18th November with an inspiring address from Director of UK Feminista and author of The Equality Illusion, Kat Banyard, who highlighted the importance of diverse representations of women on screen and equality off screen.

Women in Film and Television’s Rebecca Brand chaired a panel on Friday 19th that included Lindy Heyman, Destiny Ekaragha, and Underwire’s Gemma Mitchell in an exciting and practical discussion of how what it takes to build a career in the film industry.

International Screenwriting expert Linda Aronson joined Underwire on Saturday 20th in between flights from Amsterdam and towards Berlin, to give an extraordinarily practical guidance on Screenwriting, and the creative process of filmmaking.

On the evening of Saturday 20th, Underwire screened the full programme to-date of films that dynamic comedy producing and writing team Jackal Films have produced as part of their challenge to make a short film every month of 2010.
