Encounters Festival is a natural home for UnderWire, with short film talent as far as the eye can see. We’ve had a fantastic response from women filmmakers in the South West who will be taking part in our Bristol Forum dinner tomorrow night (19 Sept), and for the rest of you, we want to see your pretty faces at the UnderWire Networking Night on Thursday 20 Sept at The Watershed from 6pm.
We’re going to be screening our fabulous array of winning shorts from 2011, necking some beers, and checking out local female talent (*cough*, their films, that is) during the ‘open mic’ part of the evening. If you’re a) a lady b) contributing to the making of short films in any craft role and c) game for sharing, then do please bring along a copy of your film on DVD on Thursday night and we will screen your film and get feedback from our audience. We know it’s daunting, but this kind of interaction can be hugely helpful and you may pick up some new fans along the way.
And this is not a girls only club - we welcome ALL filmmakers and those just looking to watch some killer shorts and meet some nice people.
Further details about the event can be found on the Encounters website, where you can also pick up a ticket in advance.
