Prostitution features in hundreds of films from multiple countries since cinema began. Yet how accurate are the depictions, and how do they affect society’s attitudes to those involved? Considering mainstream films from “Breakfast at Tiffanys” to “Monster” this panel will reflect on the power of cinema to influence public perception, and interrogate the links between fiction and real-life experience.
