Since the win for best cinematography at last year’s Underwire festival for pop promo House (directed by Prano Bailey-Bond) Annika and Prano have shot another two promos together; pixelated ‘Two Devils’ for band Dog Is Dead and one for Brazilian singer songwriter Mariana Magnavita, which follows the singer through five different time periods from the early 19th century to present day. Annika says “It was so exciting to try to re-create visually, especially with no money but Prano just pulled together all of us again from House and we think we made it work in the end!”

A number of shorts have just been completed, among them ‘Waxwings’ directed by Tim Mercier, ‘Unoriginal’ a Screen South funded sci-fi production directed by David Jackson, as well as a fashion short for New York Times new style magazine starring Tom Hiddleston and Michelle Dockery directed by Josh Appignanesi.

In April Annika went to Norway to catch up with regular director Jakob Rorvik to shoot a commercial for clothes brand St Hallvard which will be screened at cinemas in Norway. As a modern adaptation on the Norwegian classic Hamsun novel ‘Hunger’ they had lots of fun being transported back to the 1890s and shooting black and white. It was all shot in and around Oslo as well as the local museum and with some of the original costume from the 1960’s film version of the book.

Another new exciting collaboration has been working with director Juliet Ellis on a pilot for a feature, Bit By Bit, which is a thriller/drama taking place in Sheffield and starring Fraser Ayres and Kierston Wareing. The full feature is aimed to start shooting early next year.

Last but not least Annika most recently had the opportunity to work for DoP Christopher Doyle on a drama set in Northumberland.
