Prano Bailey-Bond for ‘The Trip’

This short film tells the true story of Hung, a Vietnamese teenage boy trafficked abroad on the promise of a job and a new life. Upon arrival in the UK Hung is forced to work in a cannabis factory. A prisoner in a new world, completely isolated without even natural light by which to count the days, Hung’s existence becomes monotonous, claustrophobic, surreal – as if he were trapped in a nightmare. When the house is raided by Police Hung finally escapes his prison, only to be immediately introduced to a new one.

Our Best Director will receive a membership to Directors UK as well as a 1-2-1 mentoring meeting with Directors UK board member and director Philippa Cousins.
